GOOD WATER SUPPLY
LUCKY ONE TREE HILL A SATISFACTORY POSITION “The position regarding the water supply in the borough is very satisfactory,” said the engineer, Mr. J. Dawson, at a meeting of the One Tree Hill Road Board held last evening. He reported that the level of water in the well was being steadily maintained at a point six feet above the foot valve of the pump, this being three feet below th©f normal. The average working time came to about 18 hours a day, but owing to the excessive demands during the past week the average had been raised to about 20 hours. The statement of rates which proved to be about the same as on the same date last year, was considered to also be very satisfactory. According to the clerk’s report 90 per cent, of the rates due had been collected, while the amount received. to date totalled about £20,945, there being £2,355 still unpaid: *'■
