CHAMPIONSHIP AWARD MR. McLEOD’S ADVICE • X Press Association. FEILDING, Wednesday. For people’s, day at the Feilding Show there was a large attendance, and a successful show in every way resulted. Mr. A. D. McLeod, Minister of Lands, speaking- at the official luncheon, urged the establishment of a farmers’ organisation for business purposes. Referring particularly to the export pork trade, Mr. McLeod said that when Cabinet decided to grant a subsidy they found that the representatives of the various sections could not agree as to how the subsidy should be applied. It was hoped that the Government’s decision would give an impetus to the pork export trade. The following championships have been awarded:—Jersey bull: W. T. Williams’s Sybil’s Gammage Dreadnought; reserve champion, W. Devine’s Nap. Champion Jersey cow: W. T. Williams’s Viola’s Queen Bess; reserve champion, R. L. Horn’s Ku Lu Booklet. Milking Shorthorn heifer: R. V. Brown’s Waimea Domingo; reserve champion, R. V. Brown’s Waimea Lilac. Grade dairy cow: T. D. Hicks’s Molly. Romney ram: G. E. Allan; reserve champion, G. E. Allan. Romney ewe: E. E. Short. Southdown ram: C. E. Vile. Southdown ewe: H. Burrell and Son. Berkshire boar: A. Yardley’s Blythewood Hector. Berkshire sow: W. J. Russell’s Blythewood Jennie. Tam worth boar: Cheltenham Co-operative Dairy Company’s Tawera Joker Ninth. Tamworth sow, J. A. Russells’ Orari Grace. Champion hack: J. Shaw’s Workman.
