MARINERS ON HARBOUR BY-LAWS LETTER FROM 32 SKIPPER! Though ;»-o i<« al bodies have approved of the draft by-law to prevent the berthing of hulks and barges during busy ferry hours. 32 master mariners consider that the present by-laws are sufficient. A LETTER signed by the 32 of then A came hefore the Harbour Board yesterday. It stated that there was no danger of collision, which might be attended by loss of life in the basin, provided that the present by-laws were carried out. "It is very gratifying to the board to have local bodies and master mariners approving of what lias been done.” said the chairman, Mr. H. R. Mackenzie. Mr. C. G. Macindoe: But the master mariners have not approved. After receiving this letter will you put It la a pigeonhole and forget about it? Mr. Mackenzie: It will be kept. Mr. Macindoe: Don't you think it deserves some acknowledgment? Mr. Mackenzie: It will be acknowledged. The letter was received after the names of the mariners had been read on Mr. Macindoe’s suggestion.
