Kirk, 26—1,22 0; Ross beat H. J. Williams, 26—2, 26—10; Murray beat Stratton, 15—26, 26—13, 26 — 22; Caughley beat Mrs. Jarvie, 26—3, 26—15; Miss Steele beat Mrs. Healey, 26—12, 26—24: Miss Retallack beat Mrs. E. Smith, 9.20, 26—5, 26—21. . Third Round.—Col. Du Pre beat. Ross, 26—10, 26—17; Miss Retallack beat Penn, 26—11, 26—0; Miss Steele beat Sir Francis Wemyss, 26—15, 26—-2. The presence of the English players has lent additional interest to the tourney. For the semi-final of the North Island singles to-morrow Miss Retallack and Miss Steele will meet in the lower half. Col. Du Pre waiting for the winner of the Caughley-Murray game in the upper half. In the North Island championship doubles Mrs. McDowell and Mrs. Cole play Mrs. Skeet and Miss Skeet in the semi-final to-morrow, and. winners will meet Col. Du Pre and Miss Steele in the final games.
