"Watson, S.M., Oliver Cunningham pleaded guilty to six of breaches of the Licensing Act, selling liquor within a proclaimed area (two), supplying liquor to a prohibited person (two), and keeping liquor for sale (two). Sergeant Fearnley said defendant had been under observation for two years. Eventually a plant of liquor belonging to Cunningham was found. Later, an intoxicated man who had been arrested made a statement that he had procured liquor from Cunningham. The police stated that this was one of the worst cases that had come under their notice. Defendant was fined £25 and *3 2s costs for selling liquor in a prohibited area, on one charge, and £25 and 10s costs on the second; on each charge of supplying liquor, £3 and 10s costs; and on charges of 'keeping liquor for sale convictions were recorded, and defendant was ordered to pay 10s costs in each case. B. Griffiths pleaded guilty to supplying liquor to a prohibited person. In defence counsel stated defendant had been only a short time in the district and did not know that the man supplied was a prohibited person. The plea was taken into consideration by the magistrate, also his previous good character, and the information was accordingly dismissed.
