DROWNED IN WAIPA
FATALITY AT OTOROHANGA PLUCKY ATTEMPT AT RESCUE (Special to THE SUN.) OTOROHANGA, To-day. Two lives were lost in a drowning accident in the Waipa River, near Otorohanga. yesterday afternoon, the victims were:—- « Claude Kidson, aged 21 >©ars. a visitor onlv recently arrived from Sydney for'a six months’ holiday. Allen Greig, aged 10 years, another visitor to Otorohanga. It seems that the two lads were bathing and Kidson tried to carry Greig across the river on his back. Betore they reached the other side they sank and did not rise again. The children who werepresentra^ed alarm and a youth, S. Hosking, aged 17. showing great pluck and nresence of mind, dived in, fully dressed, and brought the bodies to the ba Dr.' Gilbert was called and applied artificial respiration, but without result. i
