JOCKEY IN FORM
THE crack apprentice rider, T. Green, rode some some winners at Trentham, and continues to ride? at the top of his form. This is the time to follow a jockey, and in the case of the Awapuni lightweight it will also be a case of following the Takanini stable, for Green will, be doing most of the riding under his retainer by J. T. Jamieson. In some of his races Green will be required to put up a little over-weight, but it is sometimes wise for trainers to do this in order to secure the services of a good rider. Too often are races thrown away through feeble horsemanship, and this was particularly’noticeable at the recent Wellington meeting, the most notorious case being that of Money Order. Many backers display a partiality for following a successful jockey. On this occasion they cannot very well overlook Tommy Green.
