NOT TO BE BROADCAST

BEACH MOTOR-RACES DECISION OF IYA No description of the motor-car racing events at Muriwai Beach will be broadcast by station IYA this year. “There is only one telephone line to the beach and this will be wanted on the day of the races by the Press and the Automobile Association,” states Mr. Stringer, director of IYA.. “There has been no time for the Post and Telegraph Department to lay another line to the judges’ stand as exhaustive tests would have to be made before the broadcast could be arranged and a good relay made. The slightest fault in the line would spoil the whole transmission.” It is hoped to arrange for a relay of future races at Muriwai.
