VICAR RETIRES

NORTHCOTE PRESENTATIONS On Wednesday evening a farewell social was given for the Rev. F. Carew Thomas on his retirement from the office of vicar of Northcote. Mr. H. Cadness, who presided, spoke of the high regard in which both Mr. and Mrs. Thomas were held by the parishioners, and referred to the successful record of the vicar during the last two and ahalf years. He wished Mr. and Mrs. Thomas every happiness in their retirement from active church work.

Mr. Thomas was presented with a case of pipes by Mr. C. A. Deuxberv, and Mrs. H. Cadness gave Mrs. Thomas a fine cut-glass vase on behalf of the women. Both recipients made suitable replies.
