CROQUET PLAYERS ENTERTAINED
AN AT HOME Delphiniums, African daisies and vivid blue cornflowers made bright splashes o‘f colour on the tea tables in the Devoiiport Bowl.'ng Club's Pavilion yesterday afternoon, when the president and members of the bowling and croquet clubs held a success “at homo*’ in honour of the English croquet players who are at present touring Xew | Zealand. ! Among those present were: | Miss D. D. Steel, who wore a beige frock of crepe de chine, made in ac-cordion-pleated fashion, and wore a hat of crinoline straw to match. Miss I. Retallack, in a schappe silk frock of Oriental yellow toning and a hat of matching shade, i Mrs. W. Du Pre, who wore an ensemble of beige frisca with a rose du Barri hat. Miss Betty Du Pre, in a frock of primrose and white striped crepe de chine and a white hat. Mrs. Lowe, wearing a flower-patterned frock of Sahara georgette and a navy blue hat. Mrs. P. E. Mason, who wore a navy blue and white frock of crepe de chine with a white hat. Mrs. H. S. W. King, wearing a crepe de chine frock of moonlight blue tone, with a deeper blue hat. Mrs. E. Aldridge, in a beaded frock of ficelle georgette with a hat to match. Mrs. Newbegin, wearing a frock of tricolette in prunelle shade with a matching hat. Mrs. Prosser, who chose a fuchsia tone for her frock of crepe marocain, and wore a hat Of the same shade. Mrs. Garrard, in an ensemble of black faconne and black lace, embossed with crimson roses and worn with a hat of black balibuntal. Mrs. Schnauer, frock of hyacinth-blue crepe faille and matching hat. Mrs. Keesing, black georgette frock mounted on ecru lace and worn with a close-fitting hat. Mrs. Prime, senior, ensemble of navy blue crepe alonza and navy blue hat. Mrs. H. E. Cooper, rose du Barri frock of crepe de chine and hat to tone. Mrs. MacDougall, apple-green crepe de chine frock and matching hat. Mrs. F. Burgess, frock of brocaded •black chenille georgette and black hat. Mrs. T. Webster, wearing a finelypleated frock of black crepe marocain, and a black hat. Mrs. H. Lacey, frock of navy and beige figured crepe faille, and a navy hat. Mrs. W. F. Warren, frock of flowered chiffon, with crinoline hat to tone. INJrs. Duder, sen., nat T y blue and ivory crepe de chine frock, and navy blue hat. Mrs. C. Reid, frock of beige and navy georgette, and matching hat. Mrs. Perry, frock of lavender satin and black lace, and black hat. Mrs. J. Hamilton, gendarme blue and silver georgette frock, and blue hat. Mrs. Oswald, ensemble of navy and ivory lace, and navy blue hat. Mrs. Gallagher, leaf green frock of crene de chine, and green hat. Mrs. Coltman, fawn crepe alonza frock, and hat of geranium rose shade. Mrs. Biggs, frock of petunia chenille, and hat to tone. Mrs. Murray, ensemble of black satin carreau, and black hat. , Mrs. T. Marny. fuchsia-toned frock, and hat of matching, shade. Miss Alison, black taffetas frock, and black hat. Miss O. Sloman* beige frock of georgette, and lacquer red hat.
