SUNDAY EXCURSION TO WAITOMQ CAVES

RUN BY RAILWAY DEPT. SPECIAL FARES FROM AUCKLAND On Sunday, February 5, the Railway Department will run a special excursion train to the Wait tomo Caves from Auckland. This year the department has embarked on a progressive policy of bringing within reach of the people of Auckland and the surrounding districts some of the finest scenic resorts of the Dominion. The cost is remarkably low, and public patronage will mean that other trains will be run in the future. The Sunday excursion to Waitomo should be a success for several reasons. The first is that the fares will be only ISs 6d return first class and 12s 6d return second class. The train will leave Auckland at 8.50 a.m. on February 5 and return at 10.11 p.m. Cars will be in readiness to take the sightseers from the station to the caves. Special fares will be available from Auckland, Manurewa, Newmarket and Pukekohe. Other excursions which are being held by the Railway Department are those tQ the kauri forests on January 28 Opua from Portland (Wharfgarei), on Sunday, January 29.
