ENGLISH CROQUET TEAM

MATCH AT DEVONPORT The English croquet players, who arrived yesterday, will play an exhibition match at the Devonport Bowling Club’s green this afternoon. The team includes Sir Frances Col-chester-Wemyss, Lieut.-Colonel W.D. Du Pre, Miss D. D. Steel, Mrs. J. Retallack and Mr. R. Windsor Richards. In Australia the English team won the first test and, drew the second and the third was won by Australia. To-morrow morning at Mount Eden the visitors will play a representative Auckland team, consisting of Mrs. Schnauer, Mrs. Fullerton, Mrs. Lowe, Mrs. Hilton, Miss Workman and Mr. R. Lawrence. The party will leave by train to-morrow evening for ,W ranganui, where they will take part in the North Island championship tournament and will play a test match against a North Island team. The visitors will later meet a New Zealand team in Palmerston North.
