NORWAY HOISTS ITS FLAG By Gable. —Press Association. — Copyright. LONDON, Saturday. The Norwegian Minister in London, Mr. Benjamin Vogt, has presented to the Foreign Office a Note which states that the Norwegian flag has been hoisted on Bouvet Island. —A. and N.Z.

According to a cable received on Saturday, Norway has claimed possession of Bouvet Island, in the Southern Atlantic Ocean, which the British Government had recently lease I to a Norwegian whaling company. The island is shown on the map as a British possession, and is regarded as such by the British Government.
