Fined for Fighting. —John Karup (23) was to-day fined £1 by Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., for fighting with John Jermey in High Street on Saturday. The. charge of fighting against Jermey was dismissed. Expensive * Drinking.—"l don’t often drink, but I did that time,” said Bertram Augustine O’Connor, 34, when charged before Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., this morning, with damaging a hat valued at 7s 6d and using obscene language. When under the influence of liquor on Saturday he wents to Myers’ Park and missused the custodian’s hat, and used the language complained of. He was fined £1 in default thre days on the second charge, and ordered to pay the damage to the hat, 7s 6d', and costs, 30s, in default seven days.
