ANNUAL PICNIC The Greenhithe annual picnic and sports were held in Mr. Moody’s paddock on Saturday. The following were the results of the chief events: IOOYds Handicap: Steel, 1; A. W. Sexton, 2. Old Men’s Race: J. McDonald, 1; W. Waite, 2. Spinsters’ Race: J. Hunter, 1; J. Grist, 2. Marathon: R. Dennis, 1; A. N. Sexton, 2. Nail Driving: C. G. Jonkers, 1. Nail Driving, Women: Mrs. Hunter. Egg and Spoon Race: J. Hunter, 1; Mrs. Dillner, 2. Married Women’s f Race: Mrs. McMillan, 1; Mrs. Pitcher, 2. Married Men’s Race: J. McMillan, 1; N. Pitcher, 2. Hop, Step and Jump: A. N. Sexton, 1; N. Jonkers, 2. Thread the Needle: Steel and Hunter, * A dance was held in the hall in the evening and well attended.
