NEW HOSPITAL BLOCK
INFECTIOUS DISEASES WARDS BRICK STRUCTURE TO COST £35,000 A new brick three-story infectious diseases block, coHiing £35,000, and with accommodation for practically 60 beds, has been approved by the Auckland Hospital Board. The plans for the building will bo Kiven to the honorary medical staff for inspection, and will then be sent to the department, in the meantime, the cost of the removal of the old wards will be considered. Reporting to the board yesterday, the chairman. Mr. William Wallace, said that the remodelling of the wards 1 and 12 would give accommodation for only 40 beds, and wouid cost £3 4.000. The new building would allow tor 50 beds, end at times of stress for GO.
