BYE-BYE BLACKBERRY
FIRE AT WIRI Tne thousands of residents of Auckland and the suburbs, who pay their annual pilgrimages to Wiri for the purpose of gathering blackberries, to replenish the winter larders with jams and jellies will have to look further afield during the coming season for their supplies, as the area adjacent to the railway station has been cleared lately by tire. This will mean a drop in the railway returns on this line, as hundreds f>t persons were in the habit of “making a day of it” on Sunday during the »ea«on.
