DEVONPORT SWIMMERS

SCHOOL CHAMPIONSHIPS Mr. A. Lane presided at the meet--:ig of the Devonport Swimming Club held in the Masonic Hall last evening. Preliminary arrangements were made for the holding of the North Shore Primary School championships at Cheltenham Beach on February 18. It is hoped to arrange, also on the same date, championship events for boys and girls of the North Shore Grammar School. Trophies have been promised by Mr. E. H. Little and Mr. J. Screaton. The Devonport Borough Council is to be approached to have mussels and other shellfish scraped from the stormwater outlets on Cheltenham Beach, which are much used by children for diving platforms.
