TAUMARUNUI SHOW
DIFFICULTIES OVER JUDGES Mr. J. R. Powell (president) occupied the chair at a meeting of the executive of the Taumarunui A.P.H« and I. Association, at which the secretary reported that the judges appointed for the horse and sheep classes would not accept the positions. It was decided to ask Mr. Vallance, Masterton* to act as horse judge, failing him Mr. J. Overton, Taihape. Mr. Fanning* Taihape, is to be asked to judge the sheep, and in the event of his declining, Mr. W. K. Morton, Silverhope. A letter was received from the Borough Council offering the lease of the recreation ground at a fee of £lO. Mr. W. Blackman’s tender for the luncheon booth was accepted. The secretary was instructed to have the cattle yards put in order for the show, and the auctioneering companies are to be asked for the loan of hurdles for the sheep pens, as usual. Arrangements for finalising the suggested chopping events were held over for a later meeting.
