INSURANCE MONEY TAKEN DOWNFALL DUE TO DRINK Drink was said to have caused the downfall of Frank Moore, a middleaged man, who appeared at the Court yesterday. He pleaded guilty to two charges of stealing money totalling £33 from the Colonial Mutual Assurance Society. Chief-Detective Hammond said that accused, who had only been m New Zealand 18 months, collected the money and failed to account for it. Mr. E. H. Northcroft, who appeared for the society, said that the defalcations were recent, and it was thought, that the trouble was caused by drink. He was remanded to appear on Fri- ! day for sentence.
