GRAFTON MAKES BAD START
Y.M.C.A.’S GREAT REPLY Something happened to the Gx*afton players on Saturday afternoon at Eden Park and they left the field after an hour and 35 minutes with the sad total of 73. To this Y.M.C.A. responded with a fast 220 for four wickets, by Hunt. bright or spectacular, closed for 73. Bowley was too good with the ball, and Lyon showed out. Elliott was a third bowler who had to be respected. Grafton gave a disappointing display and will need to play to form to get anywhere near Y.M.C.A. From th© start Bowley and Elliott gave Hamilton and Goodwin plenty of pasting. Scoring .was . very last and 30 was up after 16 minutes’ play. Both batsmen got set and let the bowlers have it. Bowley had reached 18 when he swung a ball to mid-on, where Wylie held it. Lyon joined Elliott, and then commenced some great cricket. Lyon played a clever bat, and his 72 was secured after a splen- & r-k yfc 76. Sfe
