GAOL FOR YOUNG MAN “DRUNKEN BLACKGUARD” Press Association. WELLINGTON, To-day. “Your language is that of a drunken young blackguard," said Mr. J. H. Salmon, S.M., in imposing a sentence of three months’ gaol on James Sydney Cody, 27, who created a disturbance at a dance at the Earlv Settlers' Hall. He was in altercation with the doorkeeper, who suspected Cody of giving a pass-out check to a friend outside. It was stated by the police that Cody had been four times before the court last year for fraud and theft, and as an idle and disorderly person.
