Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Bettle, of Palmerston North; Mr. and Mrs. V. Smith, of New Plymouth; and Mr. and Mrs. S. Mrs. Kelly, her son -and daughter, with Mr. L. A. C. Warner, LL.A.B., and Miss Daphne Warner, of Wellington, are touring the North Island, camping at New Plymouth, Auckland, Rotorua, Taupo and Napier. Mrs. Elliott Lynn, one of Great Britain’s pioneer airwomen, and perhaps the most daring yet capable pilot of her sex, was recently married in London to Sir James Heath, Bart. The bridegroom is 75 years of age and a wealthy iron manufacturer and coal mine owner.

The engagement is announced of Miss Gladys Southgate, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Southgate, to Mr. John A. Ghalke, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. J. E. L. Chalke, Kokako. The engagement is announced of Sylvia, third daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. Witt, of Putaruru, to William John, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. W. Dixon, of Campbell Road, Walton, Waikato. WEDDING TIME HARRIS—ALDER An extremely pretty, but quiet, wedding took place on Wednesday, when Ivy Kathleen, the eldest daughter of Mr. Charles and the late Mrs. Alder, of Pukekapia, Huntly, was married to Frederick William, eldest son of Mr. Frederick Harris, well known as town clerk and one of the oldest residents in Huntly. The Rev. J. W. Robinson, an old friend, officiated, and St. Paul’s Anglican Church was very charmingly decorated for the occasion. The bridesmaids were Miss Kate Alder (chief) and Miss Ruth Harris, sisters of the bride and groom. Mr. R. Maslin was best man and Mr. Arthur Harris groomsman. After the ceremony the party adjourned to the supper-room of the Town Hall, where the customary toasts were honoured.

The bride wore a dainty frock of white crepe de chine, trimmed with silver. A coronet of silver and pearls caught her beautifully embroidered tulle veil, and a charming shower bouquet was carried. Miss Alder wore a frock of shell pink crepe de chine, trimmed with shell pink sequins and silver, with a flower on the shoulder to match, and carried a pretty bouquet. Miss Harris was in cyclamen crepe de chine, trimmed with cyclamen ribbon and a dainty flower on shoulder, with shower bouquet to tone. Both bridesmaids wore Russian, bandeaux of flowered silver and tulle, and pretty strings of pearls. In the family party at the breakfast were; —Mr. and Mrs. F. Harris, Mr. C. Alder, Mr. Jack Alder, Mr. and Mrs. Hayward, Mr. H. Hayward, Mesdames Makinson and Foss. The honeymoon is being spent in the Thames district, and the future home will be Rotongaro, Huntly.

CHERRINGTON—PRICE A quiet wedding took place at St. Aidan’s Chapel. Bishopscourt, Hamilton, on Tuesday morning, when Miss Ellen Diana Perry Price, daughter ot Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Price, of Thames, became the wife of the Bight Bev. Cecil Arthur Cherrington, Bishop of Waikato. The bride, who was given away by Mr. L. B. Gilflllan, of Hamilton, wore a dainty gown of ivory georgette,, her veil being held in place by a coronet of orange blossoms. She carried a spray bouquet of carnations. Miss M. Forrest, of Hamilton, who attended the bride, wore a frock of rose pink georgette with a veil of the same tone. The ceremony was conducted by Dean G. B. Barnett. Among those present were Dean and Mrs. Barnett, Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Whyte, Mr. and Mrs. Gilflllan, Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Foster and Mrs. T. E. Jeffrey. After the ceremony a reception was held at Bishopscourt.
