The accounts of the Pacific Cable Board for the year 1926-27 reveal that a surplus of £100,739 remained after the annuity was Paid to the National Debt Commissioner in respect of interest •«d repayment of capital. The traffic receipts amounted to »W7,1M0, an increase on the previous Jew of £13,000. Over 12,000,000 words in interatloual traffic were transmitted durthe year, an increase of approximi’nn 120,000 words.
