WITH THE LAND SCOUTS
The Tauranga Boy Scouts will enter their annual camp on January 16, under Scoutmaster P. Lloyd, assisted by Assistant Scoutmaster Kirk-Burnand. The camp will be held at Oropi, about ten*miles from Tauranga. It is expected that about 40 or 50 boys will attend and the- are looking forward to an enjoyable outing. • • • The Otahuhu troop, over 40 strong, paraded on the morning Gf January 4, under Scoutmaster C. B. W. Seton, and left for Duder’s Beach, Clevedon, for
their annual camp. Three motorlorries, kindly provided by Mr. Thos. Clements, conveyed the party and their baggage to the camping ground, and it is their intention to spend ten days under canvas.
The Mangaweka troop have concluded their annual camp, which was held at Kawhatau River, under the supervision of Rev. Wm. Langstone, assisted by Mr. C. F. Dalgety and Mr. G. Guinnaine. The camp broke up after a fine display of fireworks, arranged by Mr. Hugh Johnstone, a number of residents joining in at the conclusion of the evening.
The Fox Patrol of the Tahutimai troop, under Big Brown Bear (S. Barrett) won the wireless set recently awarded for patrol competitions, the Kiwi Patrol coming second.
