Adverse comment on the Government’s failure to open up 30.000 acres of* Crown land in the Whangamarino riding was made when a petition was Presented on behalf of 56 ratepayers fo the Waikato County Council to-day for a division of the riding and the establishment of a M.ramarua subdivision as a new riding. It was Stated that the idleness of the Crown lands in the area was an injustice when were ava.labConsideration of the petition was deferred.
