“LOST” LUGGAGE
AN EXCITED PASSENGER LOOKED IN WRONG CARRIAGE A distracted man rushed to the guard on the Limited this morning soon after the train had left Frankton Junction. “My suitcase and overcoat and hat have been stolen,” he declared with some heat, evidently brought on by excitement. “Have you looked for them?” asked the guard. • “Yes, I have,” said the excited passenger. The guard examined the passenger’s ticket and found that he was travelling second class. There were two second-class carriages on the train. When the Limited arrived at Auckland a suitcase, an overcoat and hat were taken by an attendant to the lost luggage office. He had found them on an unoccupied seat. The excited passenger had spent the whole of the journey from Frankton Junction to Auckland looking for his clothes and case—but he had looked in only one carriage, and it was the wrong one. _«=■■■•.
