TRADE IN KAURI GUM
U.S.A. INTERESTS COMBINE Kauri gum importers in U.S.A. have combined and the leading men in the business there have undertaken to abide by the regulations of a newly-consti-tuted federation. The federation, according to latest mail advices, has been formed with the object of combating abuses of the trade and preventing prieec uting. What the outcome of the organisation will be remains to be seen. The market at the moment is quiet following the resumption of business after the holidays and there is practically no movement worthy of note. Last year's production for the period ended December 31. 1927, recorded at 3.820 tons, was the recorded for many years.
