McGirr opened the attack and in the first over Cherry was caught by Tattersall. 4—l—l. McMullan filled the vacancy, Massey being the other bowler. The new pair scored briskly, Knight punching the ball hard through cover. Fifty appeared after half an hour’s play. Beard and Badcock took up the bowling, Badcock bowling Knight with the first ball.’ 58—2—38.
