At the Sydney Stadium in a boxing match Charles Purdy New Zealand, 9st 91b, knocked out “Little Cowboy,” the Filipino, 9st 71b, in the fifth round. Purdy led from the commencement and severely punished his opponent, flooring him in the second round. For the remaining rounds the New Zealander administered heavy pm ishment, and finally knocked out his opponent with a heavy right cross to the jaw. The “cowboy” was outboxed and outfought from the commencement of the contest.—A. and N.Z.
