OTOROHANGA WEDDING
McDELL—BUDDEN A wedding of much local interest was celebrated in the Presbyterian Church at Otorohanga on Tuesday by the Rev. E. H. Ivedgley. The bride was Miss Marjory Budden, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. B. Budden, late of Honikiwi, now of Waitara, and the bridegroom, Mr. Arthur McDell, of Otahuhu. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a charming frock of cream crepe do chine and lace with orange blossoms catching her tulle veil, and carried a bouquet of roses and lilies. Miss Bessie Budden, of Pokuru, and Miss Mavis Budden, of Hamilton, nieces of the bride, acted as bridesmaids. Mr. Hugh McDell, brother of the bridegroom, was best man, and the bride’s brother, Mr. Allen Budden, was groomsman.
The Prince of Wales, who was recently in Paris, with Prince George, on the way back to London after their holiday in Spain, paid an informal visit to the Theatrical Girls’ Hostel, where many British girls appearing in Paris theatres reside. ‘ Stars” and chorus girls from the Moulin Rouge, Follies Bergeres. and other theatres, who had heard of the intended visit, assembled in large numbers to cheer him. The Prince, who made the visit at tea time, appeared to be nervous in the company of so many girls. "Ho is, oh, so very nice,” one the girls remarked afterwards, "but he is such a shy yoUng man.” A young, nervous baby is often frightened and cries when put into water. If he is wrapped loosely in a soft Turkish towel and lowered into the bath he will not feel the shock: in a day or two the towel can be dispensed with.
