N.Z. CONTRACTS
ORDERS PLACED IN ENGLAND The Bulletin of the Department of Overseas Trade states that Messrs. Stothert and Pitt, Ltd., of Bath, England, has secured the order for three electric traversers and eight screw jack car electric type hoists for the New Zealand Government Railways. Crompton, Parkinson, Ltd., London, have secured contracts for auto-syn-chronous motors for Johannesburg, Singapore, Perth (WJL), Bunnerong (X.S.W.) and New Zealand. The Dunedin City Council has placed with the Woodall-Duekham Vertical Retort and Oven Construction Co., Ltd, a contract for tar treatment plant having a capacity of 10 tons of crude tar per day, and has awarded to Strachan and Henshaw, Bristol, the contract for a rotary side discharge wagon tipler. The New Zealand Post and Telegraphs Department has placed contracts for the supply of wire manufactured by W. T. Henley's Telegraph Works Cc., Ltd.., London, for telephone cords manufactured by Phoenix Telephone and Electric Works, Ltd.. London. and by British Insulated Cables, Ltd., London, for 2,0001bs of adhesive tape manufactured by W. T. Henley’s; and for sulphuric acid manufactured by Spencer, Chapman and Messel, T London; and for cabinets manufactured by Milner’s Safe Co., Ltd., London. The Xew Zealand Government has awarded the contract for a year's supply of motor spirit for the North Island to the British Imperial Oil Co., Ltd., London.
A contract for the supply to the Auckland War Memorial Museum of about 350 showcases of glass in bronze frames has been let to Messrs. A. Edmonds and Co., Birmingham.
