APPOINTMENT IN AUSTRALIA By Cable.—Press Association. — Copyright. NEW YORK, Wednesday. Mr. C. M. Slag:" has been appointed as tobacco expert in connection with the development of the tobacco industry in Australia. He will sail by the Ventura on February' - S, on a three years’ engagement. His training: has consisted of work at the University of Wisconsin, and he studied under Or. Wells Garner, the physiologist in charge of tobacco investigation, United States Department of Agriculture. Mr. Slagg was pathologist in charge of the Connecticut tobacco experimental station, and since June, 1524. has been chief of the tobacco division of the Canadian Department of Agriculture.—A. and N.Z.
