Church Rises From Under Sea

Cable. —Press Association. — Copyright. LONDON, Tuesday. rpHE lost parish church of A Walton-on-the-Naze, Essex, which was engulfed a century ago with the old village and which is now three miles out at sea, dramatically reappeared during an exceptionally low tide which followed a heavy storm. The belfry is known as that of the ghost church. A great crowd of people gathered on the seafront to watch the ruin, which was silhouetted against the sky, until the tide returned and again engulfed the building.—A. and N.Z.
