FIRM VALUES FOR MUTTON Firm values for mutton were maintained at Westfield fat stock sale ~’esterday, and quotations advanced slightly on previous rates. Lamb maintained recent ruling prices. The yarding was an average one. Pigs were penned in average numbers, and porkers advanced slightly in value baconers remaining firm and stores easing a little. Prices ranged as outlined below:
Beef (per 1001b):—Extra choice ox, 325; choice and prime ox, 28s to 31s; choice and prime cow and heifer, 24s to 275. Sheep (per head): —Prime wethers, 23s 6d to 30s; unfinished wethers, 20s to 23s 9d; prime ewes, 14s to 22s 6d; unfinished ewes, 10s to 13s 9d; prime lambs, 21s to 28s 6d; unfinished lambs, 12s to '2os. ' ' Calves (per head):—Runners, 50s to 935; vealers, 34s to 735. Pigs (per head). —Baconers, 46s to 525; porkers, 40s to 495; weaners, 8s to 14sfc slips, 15s to 225; large stores, 21s to 265.
