BUTTER AND CHEESE
RULING RATES AT HOME (Special to THE SUN.) WELLINGTON, Wednesday. Advice has been received by the New Zealand Dairy Produce Control Board, showing the prices ruling at Home to be as follow: Butter.—New Zealand: Salted, 162 s to 1645; unsalted, 166 s to 170 s; market steady; deliveries New Zealand last week, 1,200 tons; in store, 3,600 tons. Australian: Best salted, 156 s to 160 s; unsalted. 150 sto 1545. Argentine: Finest unsalted, 150 s to 1565. Danish: 186 s, spot,' and 171 s, f.0.b.; creamery, unsalted, 186 s to 190 s. Siberian: Salted, 152 sto 1545. Retail prices: New Zealand, Is 7d; Danish, Is Bd.
Cheese.—New Zealand: White, 91s to 945; coloured, 91s to 945; market firm. Canadian: Finest white, 100 s to 104 s: coloured, 100 s to 102 s. English: Finest farmers’, 126 s to 130 s. The retail price has been reduced to Is.
The board has also received the following advice from its agents in Canada in connection with butter:—New York, 52 cents; Montreal, 36£ cents; San Francisco, 48 cents. Stocks of butter in Montreal, 145,975 boxes; last year, 39,353 boxes.
