RIALTO AND REGENT, EPSOM

“FAST AND FURIOUS” Reginald Denny tops his long list of farce comedy film successes with • his latest release, “Fast and Furious,” a Universal-Jewel production, which is being shown at the Rialto and Re- ! gent Theatres to-night. The dashing and versatile _ Denny this time appears in the role of a fast-stepping, gilded edition of flaming youth, ever on the quest of adventure, and this picture should surpass all of his previous efforts in the field of fast - moving, riotous, laugh - getting entertainment. There isn’t a dull moment in the 60 minutes of time it takes to run off this outstanding, typical Denny starring vehicle. From the opening shot to the final fade-out, the gogetting star is seen in a series of adventures which will keep your spine chilled, your senses thrilled and your laugh-muscles loosened up to the limit. Denny isn’t the only comedian who will make your risibilities rise. The large cast of popular players includes such laugh producers as Lee Moran Claude Gillingwater, Armand Kaliz, Charles K. French, Wilson Benge and Edgar Xorton. Barbara Worth is [ the charming heroine. The picture is the screen version of an original story written by Reginald j Denny, adapted by Raymond Cannon ( and directed by Melville Brown.

With the settings in New York, Palm Beach and other fashionable spots, the Fox production of “The Joy Girl” gives promise of being an exceptionally good picture. Olive Borden is the star, and scintillates very brightly through the amazing adventures of a pampered daughter of poor parents, brought up with the idea that she must marry money. At the famous Florida seaside resort of Palm Beach, she meets a man who measures up to all the required standards; he is rich, young and good-looking, and Jewell, the heroine, marries him. After the ceremony, however, she finds out that he is just a chauffeur, impersonating his wealthy employer, and then events work out to a surprisi 5 conclusion.
