A POPULAR RESORT
GROWTH OF WEYMOUTH The popularity of Weymouth as a summer seaside resort is becoming more evident as each holiday season comes round. Situated just over two miles on the western side of Manurewa, on the upper reaches of the Manukau Harbour, it is within easy access by a good tarred macadam road, and a regular service is maintained throughout the year. On Monday hundreds of visitors made the trip there, and with the addition of the regular residents and the bach-dwellers, Weymouth presented a very gay spectacle. There are temporary residences of all descriptions from the stately fourroomed bungalow with all conveniences to the six by eight tent and fly. The beach consists of numerous bays, and affords good shelter from practically every wind, and one of the main attractions, especially to the city dweller, is the excellent fishing to be obtained by a short row out to the channel. For the more energetic a fine floor affords the means of many pleasant evenings' dancing in the Public Hall. The good people of Weymouth use the seven days of the week in their efforts to make life worth while.
