NEW ZEALAND MUTTON By Cable.—Press Association. — Copyright. LONDON, Monday. The Smithfield market report shows that 1927 was a record year, supplies of meat and poultry aggregating 489,290 tons, an increase of 9,032 tons on last year. British and Irish produce formed 27.7 per cent, of the total supplies, Dominion produce 19.4 per cent., and foreign countries 52.9 per cent. The Argentine sent 76.8 per cent, of the total beef marketed. The figures show that New Zealand supplies 65,660 tons of mutton, or 43.7 per cent, of the quantity marketed. The Dominions sent 13.3 per cent, of the total poultry marketed. —A. and N.Z.
