GERMANY AND DEBTS
SETTLING FIXED AMOUNT By Cable.—Press Association. — Copyright . WASHINGTON, Sunday. The Agent-General for Reparation, Mr. Parker Gilbert, has given Mr. A. W. Mellon, Secretary of the Treasury, first-hand information concerning the operations of the Dawes Plan. He reiterated his belief that the real solution of Germany’s war debt problem would come only after a fixed amount had been settled upon for Germany to pay without foreign supervision of her finances. This amount, he said, should be decided by experts. He declined to say when he thought this step should be taken. Mr, Parker Gilbert w'ill sail for Germany on Friday.—* A. and X.Z.
