WOMAN ATTACKED

HEAD INJURY INFLICTED HUSBAND ARRESTED T AWRENCE McKENZIE, aged - Li 41, was in a semi-collapsed state at the Police Court to-day, when he was charged with assaulting his wife, Honor McKenzie, causing her bodily harm. McKenzie stood in the dock with head bowed. Senior-Sergeant McCarthy said that the couple were on friendly terms, but lately some trouble had arisen. In the early hours of this morning the woman was assaulted in bed, and seriously cut on the forehead, “The man says he did it,” said the senior-sergeant, “but he cannot remember it. At present he is suffering from severe mental strain, and it would be in his own interests if he was remanded for observation.”

McKenzie was remanded to appear on lanuary 2.
