Drunk and Disorderly. —Edward Knox, aged 51, was fined £2 at the Police Court to-day for being disorderly while drunk yesterday. Idle and Disorderly. —John O’Brien, aged 50, charged at the Police Court to-day with being idle and disorderly, was sentenced to two months’ imprisonment. A Missing Watch. —Horace Martines, who appeared at the Police Court today, was" charged with stealing a watch from a person. He was remanded toappear on Jannuary 5. Dalmatians Differ.—Nicola Botica, aged 25, and Tony Posa, aged 35, charged at the Police Court to-day with fighting in Victoria Street yesterday, were each fined 30s. Falcon Island Active. —Falcon Island is again in eruption, says the passengers who arrived yesterday afternoon by the Tofua. From Nukualofa they saw large columns of smoke curling up from the island. Falcon Island periodically appears above the surface of the ocean and then disappears again. Liqour and Language. —William Williams, aged 50, who appeared at the Police Court to-day, was fined £1 for drunkenness and £2 for using obscene language. The default was 10 days’ imprisonment. Child Rescued from River. —Left playing on the banks of the Huatoki River (near New Plymouth), a little girl named Cross was found by her mother a moment later floating in the water. She was quickly rescued and has made a good recovery.
