ROTO ROA’S XMAS
ISLANDERS CELEBRATE Fifty Roto Roa islanders who had probably known more riotous celebrations in other years, spent a peaceful Christmas at the Inebriates’ Home this week. On Saturday evening a first-class concert was given in the dining-room, which had been decorated for the occasion. The manager of the institution, Major W. R. Horne, presided. An excellent supper was provided and Christmas morning was welcomed with carols.
Morning and evening church services were attended by a big number of men. The special menu and the Christmas parcels given to each man were much appreciated.
