WIDOW’S FATAL DRINK
Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Tuesday. Unable to sleep and suffering pain, Mrs. Katrine Christina Easterbrook, aged 61, a widow, drank some methylated spirits late last evening and died early to-day at the Christchurch HosPi Mrs. Easterbrook had suffered from an internal complaint for some time. She told her son, who was called about midnight, that she thought the spirits might relieve the pain. He had his mother conveyed to hospital, where she died at 6 a.m. to-day.
