Journalist who Married a Countess ARRIVAL IN AUCKLAND Romance came to a well-known London journalist while he was motoring through Europe. He met an Italian countess. Admiration was mutual. They finished the motoring tour together and were married in the Chapel Royal when they returned to England. THE journalist and his wife arrived by the Tofua yesterday afternoon. They are on a tour of the world, which is just taking them anywhere they They are Mr. and Mrs. It. V. Beveridge. During the trip he stopped at Pau, in the South of France, and there he met his present wife, who was staying with her people. Mr. Beveridge had just completed the first thousand miles of his motor trip when the met the Countess. She accompanied him on the remainder of the tour and they had a Fleet Street wedding at the Chapel Koyal when they returned to England. The Countess, or Mrs. Beveridge, as she appears on the passenger list, comes of a family which has made history in Italy. Her grandfather, a military officer, was the man who cleared the bandits out of Sicily. Times have changed for her familyin Italy, but the change cannot affect ■■Romance.”

Does the Countess grow tired of travelling the world? She does not. She is perfectly happy and looks forward to her stay in New Zealand. Before the war he was in charge of the Hurst Press Agency in London, but he gave that up to go to the war. Later he went to America to take charge of an advertising agency. He stayed there some years before returning to England.
