PRESBYTERIAN FAIR
TO AID CHURCH. FUNDS Presbyterians of Turua held , Christmas fair in the Town Hit Turua, on Thursday last in aid of th. Hauraki Plains Presbyterian Chare* funds, but the attendance was belo? expectations. The hall had been ef. fectively prepared and two big, laden Chrismas trees occupied a inent position. Prize-winners in th* cooking competitions weer as follow Bread, Mrs. S. S. Murray 1, Mrs. Aberhant 2; fruit cake, Mrs. S. S. Mum1, Mrs. J. Miller 2; madeira cake, Mr? S. S. Murray 1, Mrs. J. Miller : sponge sandwich, Mrs. Clotworthy tad Mrs. Schofield 1; jam roll, Mia It Gray; shortbread, Mrs. J. Miller scones. Miss A. Dale; iced sponge, Mrs Marceau. Numerous competitions and game of skill were held, and the fair wu brought to a close with a dance.
