TRAMWAY STOPS
Sir, — Would you kindly grant me space to bring to the notice of the powers that be the following facts, which speak for themselves? Some little time ago the tramway stop—the original stopping place at All Saints* in Ponsonby, where the people had the advantage of waiting under the verandahs for the car, at the corner of two permanent streets—for some reason or other was removed about 60 yards toward O’Neill Street, where there is no shelter for the people Waiting for the cars. It is now possible to see men, women and children standing exposed to the sun and rain, where no protection exists. The same state of affairs persists at the original first stopping place between Ponsonby and Jervois Road. I take the opportunity of conveying greetings to THE SUN for its outspoken and independent spirit in action. TRAMS REACH TRAMS.
