CHRISTMAS WEDDINGS

DAY OF BRIDES I SINTON—NORTH The wedding took place at St, Mark’s Church, Remuera, on Wednesday evening of Florence, the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. 11. J. Xorth, of Whenuapai, to Len, the fourth son of Mr. and Mrs. P. Sinton, also of Hobsonville. The marriage was performc’d by the Rev. G. C. Cruickshank, and the bride was given away by her father. The bridegroon? was attended by Mr. Wallace Sinton as best man, and Mr. Pascoe presided at the organ. The bride wore a dainty gown of ivory duchess satin and silver lace inset with pearl embroideries. A knot of orange blossom and silver ribbon was caught at the waist and a chaplet of orange blossoms with pretty clusters at the sides held a long veil of delicately embroidered tulle in place. A beautiful bouquet of Madonna lilies completed her toilette. The altar and chancel of the church were decked with a profusion of exquisite lilies, and lilies mingled with sweet peas and stocks appeared in the decorative scheme at Oliphant’s Chambers, where a reception was held. The bride was attended by Miss Doris Batterskill, her cousin, as chief bridesmaid, wearing a dainty frock of floral embossed crepe faille in a delicate apricot tone. With it she wore a matching crinoline hat with upturned brim and a swathing of velvet, and carried a bouquet of vivid flowers. The Misses Loloma and Patricia Pollard acted as flower-girls, wearing pretty little frocks of leaf-green and pansy-mauve crepe de chine respectively, daintily made with gathered skirts and shoulders. Flower-laden hats of black crinoline straw made dainty frames for their faces, and they each carried a bouquet of sweet peas. The bride’s mother received the guests at the reception, wearing a gown of oyster grey crepe aloilza relieved with black chiffon velvet. She wore a black velvet hat and carried a bouquet of pale blue sweet peas.

The mother of the bridegroom wore a flower-patterned frock of Naples blue bengaline and a feather-trimmed hat of crinoline straw. She carried a pretty posy of sweet peas.
