Mr. and Mrs. A. Wells, of Narrow Neck, left for a holiday in Russell last evening. Miss Oliver, who has been matron of the John McGlashan College, Dunedin, for the last two years, has been appointed matron of the Mount Albert Grammar School House, where' ehe succeeds Mrs. Walker. Mrs. J. Frater is spending the Christmas holidays at Russell. Miss Piper, of Wellington, is a visitor to Auckland. Mr. and Mrs. L. G. Airey, Auckland, are visiting Xelson. Miss Michael, of Xew Plymouth, is spending the holidays at Auckland. Miss X. Livesey has returned to Auckland after a visit to Xew Plymouth. * * * Miss C. Grcatbatch returned to Xew Plymouth from Auckland on Tuesday. ; Mr. and Mrs. W. Patterson, of Ash- I burton, are visiting Auckland. Miss Phyllis Xeale, of Xapier, is at present on a visit to Auckland. Mrs. H. C. Pope, of Wellington, is spending a holiday in Auckland. Miss Moginie, who has been on a visit to New Plymouth, has returned to Auckland. Miss Gwen Fullerton leaves for Rotorua and Lake Taupo on Saturday. She will afterwards pay a round of visits in Hawke’s Bay and return home towards the end of February. Miss Dorothy Woolley, of Sydney, is the guest of Mrs. R. G. Porter, of Devonport. Sister Agnes Welby, of Wellington, who has been visiting Rotorua, will be a passenger by the Maunganui this afternoon for Sydney. Sister Welby, who trained at the Masterton Hospital, after experience in Australia, will visit the United States before returning to Xew Zealand. Miss Xancy Hartman, of Dunedin, is the guest of Miss K. Lintott, Fairview Road, Mount Eden. Mrs. Alberta McLean, of England, is the guest of Mrs. Brittain, St. George's Bay Road. • * • Mrs. Alfred Webster has returned to Auckland after visiting Xew Plymouth. * * * Miss Edna Gamman, of Rotorua, has left on a visit to Tauranga and Auckland. * * V Dr. and Mrs. Ernest Roberton will spend the Christmas holidays in Christchurch, staying with their daughter, Mrs. Leslie Averill. * * * Mrs. M. Brook, Miss C. Brook, and Miss H. Brook, of Epsom, are leaving this week for a trip to the Southern Lakes. * * * Mrs. W. Tv. Howitt, of Stanley Bay, left yesterday to spend the Christmas and Xew Year holidays in the King Country. * * * Miss M. C. Hay, of Auckland is spending an extended holiday with relatives at Wellington. * * * Mrs. J. E. D. Spicer is visiting Wellington, and is staying with her mother, Mrs. Adams, sen., at the Hutt. * * * Miss Joan Robertson has returned to Auckland from Paris, where she has been continuing her studies during the past year.
Miss Keesing, of Radnor, will bo the guest of Major and Mrs. Guy Cheeseman, of Whangarei, for the Christmas and New Year season. * * * Mr. and Mrs, C. Goldstine, of Herne Bay, have left for Christchurch with their son, Mr. M. Goldstine, to attend the latter’s marriage to Miss P. Hollander. Mrs. W. Pavitt, Remuera, is spending the Christmas and New Year holidays with her daughter, Mrs. Maurice Sinclair, of Blenheim. Dr. and Mrs, P. Fitchett, who have been spending the past year in the South, have arrived back in Auckland, and are settled in their Hat, No. 11a St. Stephen’s Avenue.
