LAND AGENT’S LICENCE
HAMILTON PROSECUTION (From Our Otrn Correspondent) HAMILTON, Thursday. I A case involving the necessity for licences by land agents was heard at Hamilton yesterday, when John William Moreland and Walter Adamson were charged with carrying on business without the necessary licence. It was stated for the prosecution that Rudolf Alexander Johnston .vas granted a land agent’s licence ii respect to certain premises in Hamilton. Johnston went to Australia, and since then the business had be«*n carried on by the two defendants. Mr. Mervyn Wilson. S.M., said it appeared Johnston had made himself liable to prosecution owing to the acts of his servants, the defendant: . in carrying on business in an office other than that named in the licence. No offence had been proved against the defendants. The informations were dismissed.
